Scientology Volunteer Ministers Help Raise Awareness of Toronto's Homeless Problem

Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology of Toronto who participated this week in Ansaar Foundation's annual ''Walk For the Homeless.''

Concerned about what has been called a "considerably larger homeless problem than many cities of similar size," the Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Toronto participated this week in Ansaar Foundation's annual "Walk for the Homeless."

According to the Toronto Report Card on Housing and Homelessness 2003, 2,000 Toronto households have incomes below the poverty line and 31,985 homeless individuals (including 4,779 children) stayed in a Toronto shelter at least once during the previous year.

The church joined the Chief of Police for York Region, Armand La Barge, a representative from the Chief of Toronto's office and City Councilor Jane Pitfield to raise awareness on the problem and encourage all sectors of society to take effective action to eradicate homelessness in the city.

The Volunteer Ministers participated in the march to raise awareness on the problem and encourage all sectors of society to take effective action to eradicate homelessness in Toronto.
